Stromar has announced a new partnership with Macduff Marine Aquarium in Aberdeenshire, aiming to raise awareness of climate change, biodiversity loss and the importance of sustainable practices. The partnership will support the aquarium’s educational programs and digital initiatives, making marine science more accessible to a wider audience.
In addition to technological advancements, the partnership will see a comprehensive redevelopment of the aquarium’s “Climate Change and Our Oceans” program. With input from Stromar experts, the program will highlight the importance of green energy solutions in the transition to a net-zero future. Pupils will learn about how renewable energy sources, like wind power, contribute to reducing carbon footprints and promoting biodiversity.
Nicholas Ritchie, project director at Stromar, said “We are delighted to support Macduff Marine Aquarium in this important initiative. This collaboration demonstrates our commitment to environmental education and sustainable practices. By providing innovative digital learning tools and enriching educational content, we aim to inspire the next generation to champion green energy and marine conservation.”
The partnership will also feature a STEM online workshop later this year, specifically designed for schools. This workshop will cover climate change, green energy, and biodiversity, fostering a deeper understanding of these interconnected subjects among young learners and inspiring them to consider STEM careers.
